HERO SHOT:

DETAILED SHOT:

DESCRIPTION:

This is my completed Assessment 1 Project. For the custom textures I chose the texture "Smooth" which was placed at the entrance of the Showroom on the cylindrical structure that runs from the showroom level to the first floor workshop.

I decided to change the staircase that runs from the Showroom level to the first floor level as the initial design was bulky, big and unattractive. I redesigned a new staircase which is minimalistic yet effective in its design. This staircase is delicate and is an artwork in itself that effortlessly glides people between the showroom and first floor.

The initial thought for the underground level was to have it underwater. I decided against this and to rather have it floating above the water next to the edge of the land. This workshop houses Bernabei Freeman and is full of light with double height ceilings and floor to wall glass. The words chosen were circle, asymmetry and timeless which I've shown in the detail and structure of the workshop.

The first floor level houses Auto Fabrica. On this level there is plenty of light with windows on every side, balcony's on the front and back of the building and a skylight on the left side of the roof of the building making the space seem spacious and free. There are raised podiums for work to be done on motorcycles and different flooring levels to signify specific areas in the work shop. The words chosen were perform, unification and sleek.

The showroom level is very spacious with the entrance on the left side of the building next to the custom texture. You are able to over look the Bernabei Freeman Workshop while on this level and there is a back entrance/balcony to stand on.

The Hero shot captures the design of the building in the best way possible showing off its sharp lines in Auto Fabrica and the soft curves for Bernabei Freeman. The building is joined effortlessly and is a beautiful functional space for production and selling.

The Detailed Shot captures the staircase leading up to the Auto Fabrica Workshop from the Showroom level looking out the floor to ceiling window to the left of the staircase. It captures the textures used on the window which consist of two different types of concrete material. The view outside the window is breathtaking and captures people walking on the staircase. There is a feeling of space and fresh air when looking in this direction.

The trees outside the building match the architecture very well as they blend in with the building and are not taking the focus away from the main attention of the striking architecture, rather it complements the building.

Experiment 1: The Stair Conceptual Model

EXPERIMENT 1: THE STAIR CONCEPTUAL MODEL

The two concepts provided below are designed for the different brands proposed to be showcased within the show room, Auto Fabrica, and Bernabei Freeman. The first staircase shown below is proposed for Auto Fabrica as it is both functional and demonstrates expression which reflects their product. The combination of stairs, ramps and platforms for showcasing items is the perfect concept for the brand as it allows for products to be easily transported from one level to the other and also allows for the brand to display new items.

The second staircase is proposed for Bernabei Freeman as the combination of sharp lines and curved edges is the perfect representation of what the brand is. The brand holds many bold yet delicate pieces with sharp lines mixed in with soft curved edges which is demonstrated through the staircase. The centre platform is where the eye will focus to first which allows the brand to showcase their item/s. The use of vertical lines following each individual stair represents being transported into a new space.
